Question by Microbeast: Is Obama, bringing home the bacon?
Looking at his Porkulus- I mean Stimulus plan, one has to wonder why there is so little “stimulus” involved? The only portion that will create jobs in the near future, is infrastructure, which is only 10%. Not to mention if your not a bridge builder your out of luck.

Can Libs explain why there is so little job creation in this bill, and so much pork? Is Obama trying to pay back all those campaign contributions, if so, I think were all gonna have to take a bite outta one big pork sandwich..

    it’s NOT a stimulus Plan,
it’s a HELP Plan so that is NOT pork.

Obama’s Plan won’t stimulate the Economy but it will Help a lot of people.

I have a pretty simple explanation: The Democrats are exploiting the recession to pass through their Liberal programs.

You don’t understand economics. It doesn’t matter one jot what it’s spent on. It’s the spending itself that stimulates the economy.

Considering how many jobs are expected to be created out of this pork package, the cost per job will be about $ 290,000 per job.

I would explain it to you, but you wouldn’t understand it anyway. I think the problem is that brainwashing acts as a filter for the truth.

If rebuilding schools, investing in green tech and public works isnt stimulus then you dont know the meaning of the word…

did you actually read the bill?

The other big chunk goes to the states so they dont go bankrupt and lay off thousands more people… thats preventative stimulus.

Even the national monument stuff is stimulus.. for the long neglected people of DC.

So youd rather a big ol tax cut bill? Right… thats worked before. *sarcasm*
This IS stimulus… its the dems bread and butter. We do demand, you guys do supply… thats the way our country works. But we’ve had enough damn supply side for now… go away for 20 years and then come back when us progressives make our country proper again. Thats the cycle of history my friend.

It’s not just Obama that needs to pay special interest groups and campaign funders back..it’s some in the house and senate too..that’s why it’s loaded with pork..and don’t you find it interesting (if anyone hasn’t heard this) that there is funding for the national parks in the so called stimulus package and the big wig for the national parks father is in the senate..lol….we gotta love our Gov. don’t we.

stop, already–you’re bacon me sizzle. I don’t mean to be a pig, here, but i think america needs more porks, so families can take their kids there and enjoy themselves. (yellowstone is my favorite).

I saw almost everything in the bill as a potential job. Short-term employment is the key to getting things moving again.

You answered most of the question with campaign contributions, I think that OBAMA has those obligations, and it looks like he is afraid to commit a lot of money at one time to any one source, Bush paid back his contributors with the last bailout and look what it got us. Bankers getting fat bonuses.
I am afraid like you if ObAMA starts road gangs, Mexicans will clamor for those jobs

First, a necessary addendum to the last sentence in your opening premise; Make that “black” bridge builder. To the question; Seems more that he is eating the bacon.
